Dogs love to play fetch, right? That is true for one of my dogs. My goldendoodle absolutely loves playing this game. My boxer is completely uninterested in learning how to play and wont even run after a ball when I throw it, which is fine. One thing I love about having two different breeds of dogs is the fact that they have completely different personalities, behavioral traits and interests. They are total opposites and they compliment each other at the same time.

Speaking of my goldendoodle, you might notice in the pic above and the video below that he has recently been to the groomers. I had requested his hair to be cut short because the weather is starting to warm up over here on the West Coast, its spring time! Before his grooming appointment his hair was soooo long. It is a lot of work to maintain his hair when its long but it sure does keep him warm in the winter. I think he prefers a shorter cut hairstyle though, he seems more energetic and playful when he isn’t being weighed down by all that hair.

Any who, my goldendoodle took to the game of fetch like a natural. The first time I introduced the concept to him he caught on within a few minutes. We can easily play fetch all day long, he has a lot of energy. I get tired of playing before he does, that’s for sure. Tennis balls are his favorite toy. He can keep himself occupied all day by himself with just a tennis ball and be having the time of his life. He is such a happy, playful pup.

Here’s a video of us playing fetch at a tennis court today:

  1. I love the update you’re given on your goldendoodle haircut. It’s quite intriguing. I’ve also heard that boxers can be a little bit more laid back and I think that is the reason why yours isn’t really into chasing balls. Is that true?
